Liz Cheney, the Republican Representative, admitted to being “wrong” when she opposed homosexual marriages. In an interview with CBS News that was shown on Sunday, the top Republican was reflecting on her previous stance.

A Change In Opinion For Liz Cheney

Liz Cheney, the Republican from Wyoming, said that she and her sister got into a big fight over her opinion on homosexual marriages. She now believes that her father was correct about the decision. Since then, she admitted to talking about it with her sister.

Liz Cheney’s sister Mary is a lesbian. In 2013, she had taken to Facebook and objected to Liz’s opposition to homosexual marriages which was revealed in a Fox News interview. The dispute required their parents to intervene and say it was painful for them to see their children battling over something private in public.

In the past few years, Liz Cheney admitted several times that homosexual marriages are already recognized by the law. But her latest comments have been the clearest indicator of evolved stance. Mary Cheney applauded the latest comments of her sister on Facebook and said that she loved and was proud of Liz. She said that her sister was one of the few politicians who had the courage to own to being wrong about something.

Cheney is one of the two Republicans who are present on the 6th January Investigation Committee. The once-top Republican has since been fallen out of her favor with her party because she is one of the few detractors of Donald Trump. In the interview, she remarked on that matter as well and said that Trump is a problem that needs to be dealt with purposefully. She called Trump someone having no belief in the law. She also criticized Kevin McCarthy for his actions following the 6th January incident.
