Republican Bernie Moreno Drops Out Of Senate Race From Ohio: Suspends Campaign

Bernie Moreno

Republican Senate candidate from Ohio, Bernie Moreno has bowed out of the primary race. He leaves behind a cluttered field filled with diehard allies of Donald Trump.

Bernie Moreno is a blockchain businessman and car dealer. He revealed that he was leaving the race following a conversation with Donald Trump. Moreno said that both agreed that packing the stage with Trump supporters would put the seat at risk. The seat is being vacated as Republican Senator Rob Portman will retire after this term.

Bernie Moreno said that he had a meeting with Trump to talk about the political scenario in Ohio. He said that as a businessman he recognized the trends before they occur. After discussing the situation with Trump, Bernie Moreno claimed that they agreed that there were too many candidates in the race. This could hamper the Make America Great Again (MAGA) campaign initiated by Trump and cost the Republicans a seat in the Senate.

Bernie Moreno Said His Bowing Out Would Strengthen Chances Of Pro-Trump Republican Candidates

Bernie Moreno said that it was crucial to take over of the US Senate and eliminate the chances of career politicians like Tim Ryan, the probable Democratic nominee, from being elected from Ohio.

Moreno said that for that reason he was bowing out of the race for the US Senate but would continue to support the Republican candidate endorsed by Trump.

Bernie Moreno has been one of the multiple Republican candidates seeking Trump’s blessing. This authoritative approval would have a strong influence on the voters as Ohio is a strong base for Donald Trump, who won twice by around 8 points.

Bernie Moreno had brought in Kellyanne Conway as an adviser. Conway was a senior staff member in the White House under Trump. He had also poured in $3.75M of his money into the campaign. He had poured millions on an ad blitz last December.

Other right-wing politicians remaining in the fray are J.D. Vance, Josh Mandel, the ex-treasury secretary, Mike Gibbons, investment banker, Jame Timken, former, state Republican chair, and State Senator Matt Dolan.

Trump thanked Bernie Moreno for his decision and said that he had done a lot for Ohio. He said Moreno would be great for the MAGA Movement.
