Manchester City Struggled Against Leipzig In The Second Half In Thir Champions League Game

Manchester City managed to draw against their opponents in the firsl leg of Champions League’s knockout rounds. RB Leipzig despite trailing the whole match thanks to a Riyad Mahrez goal managed to score one to equalize the game at the last moment in their own backyard.

Riyad Mahrez with this goal went on to score twelve goals in the last 20 games for his team. Manchester City led by Pep Guardiola has been dominating the game against RB Leipzig, especially in the first half. However, Leipzig turned the whole game around in the second half and it is really unfortunate that they ended up drawing the game which they should have been winning based on their second half performance alone. Josko Gvardiol, the Croatian international scored the equalizer in the dying minutes for them.

Manchester City even though are still favourites to go through from this tie will not be overconfident after such performance from the Bundesliga side in the second half.

RB Leipzig despite facing the mighty Man City in their home were supporting their team with confidence. They even unveiled a banner in the first half which read that they are on their way to Istanbul as Istanbul is where the final will be hosted this year.

However, Manchester City’s crisp passing and dominance over the midfield combined with Riyad Mahrez’s finishing had almost written off the team from the tie. However, in the second half the Leipzig squad walked out of the tunnel as a superior side and created better chances.
