Michael Che, the comedian from SNL, has been lambasted for his offensive jokes that were aimed at Simone Biles on Instagram. This came in respect to the overwhelming support that Simone Biles received from her peers as the star gymnast pulled out from the finals. She further decided to not compete in the women’s individual all-around gymnastics final to focus on mental health.

Amidst the outpouring of support, Che decided that this would be the best time to ‘make fun’ of Simone Biles. Several screenshots of his Instagram post went viral- making their appearance on the BallerAlert Twitter account.

Michael Che’s Instagram Has Been A Warzone

Yet another post from Michael Che stated that he had almost 3 minutes worth of Simone Biles jokes in his head which he would be saying in the basement of his house.

If that weren’t incriminating enough, the comedian also put up a joke about Larry Nassar, the former doctor of the USA Gymnastics team who was convicted of being a sex offender- and who had been accused of abusing hundreds of young gymnasts- including Simone Biles. The post went for dark comedy- but it fell flat on its face.

Later Michael Che mentioned in his stories that his account was hacked the same day. He also stated that he had always made fun of white people and cops, and never of someone of color. Nevertheless, he had changed his password, which should ideally defuse the situation.

Now, there seems to be a growing debate whether the tale of his account being hacked was the truth, or Che trying to save himself from the backlash. It is also worthy of debate as to why would the hacker put up such a joke, when they could have put up anything else?

Carolyn Hinds, a famous podcaster, tweeted that Michael Che and other comedians of the ilk should definitely not be talking about a global superstar like Simone Biles.
