Outrageous Claim By Marjorie Taylor Greene: Dismisses January 6 As ‘Just A Riot’ To Overthrow Tyrants

Marjorie Taylor Greene has made perhaps the most outrageous interpretation of the January 6 insurrection. Other Republican representatives and senators have presented their deranged views that ranged from just a regular tourist visit’ by Georgia Rep. Andrew Clyde to denial that it was an armed and dangerous insurrection as held by Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson.

But another Georgian, Marjorie Taylor Greene has perhaps given the most appalling interpretation of the insurrection.

Marjorie Taylor Greene insisted at a podcast appearance on CNN’s Steve Bannon’s show that January 6 happened to be merely a riot at the Capitol. She added that the Declaration of Independence gave citizens the right to overthrow a tyrant.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Totally In Support Of The Insurrection

Marjorie Taylor Greene then attempted to drag the Black Lives Matter protest during 2020. She disparaged it as an unpardonable attack on US citizens while trying to defend the insurrection as an act to protect American independence.

Greene is not merely trying to say that the media had been wrong in portraying the incident as bad. She has tried to justify it; as a necessary means to ‘overthrow tyrants’ as enunciated in the Declaration of Independence.

Marjorie Taylor Greene was trying to insinuate that while the protests during the Black Lives Matter during the 2020 summer was an attack by the Black on innocent Americans, the January 6 Capitol insurrection was merely blown out of proportion.

Such senseless comparison has become a way of life for the Republicans right from Donald Trump down to the rioters who stormed the Capitol on January 6.

But what takes the cake in the utterances by Marjorie Taylor Greene is that she is trying to justify the insurrection as a necessary action to overthrow a tyrant. In doing so she is glorifying the action as revolutionary and in line with the vision of our founding fathers.
