Real Madrid Victory Against Valencia

Real Madrid has lately suffered great losses. On May 21, in a La Liga match at Mestalla, Real Madrid failed to win against Valencia FC. The score of the match was 1-0. This defeat comes after the unfortunate exit of Madrid, from the Champions League, last Wednesday.

In the first half of Sunday’s match, Madrid was left halted by the dominating performance of Valencia FC forward player Diego Lopez. He scored Valencia’s winning goal past Thibaut Courtois Madrid’s goalkeeper, putting Valencia ahead by 33 minutes. 

In the second half, Madrid attempted to score against Valencia with players Toni Kroos and Federico Valverde. However, Madrid suffered to make progress as goal shots by both players were saved by Giorgi Mamardashvili, goalkeeper of Valencia. While Madrid’s Vinicius Junior was shown the red card for his skirmish with Hugo Duro, a Valencia player who took a racist turn on Vinicius.

Real Madrid’s Vinicius Racially Abused 

Things started to go bad, when a fan threw a ball on the pitch from the stadium, while Vinicius was tackling the ball on the left side of Real Madrid. Valencia player Eray Comert either intentionally or not shot the ball that was thrown by the fan, and it hit the ball with Vinicius. This started a skirmish and Eray was shown the yellow card. While Madrid was given a free kick.

Soon Vinicius had started pointing out a fan amid the crowd, behind the goalpost. Certainly, some racial slur was made against Vinicius. Referee Ricardo De Burgos Bengoetxea had asked Vinicius if the game was to be suspended, however, it continued, while the crowd at the stadium was warned to refrain from racial attacks on players through the public addressing system. Vinicius was shown the red card for the first time in his career for striking Hugo Duro.
