An underperforming Real Madrid team is still in the title race after Vinicius Junior fired in a late equalizer, in their match with Real Sociedad. Real Madrid faces league leaders and local rivals Atletico Madrid next, the result of which will decide Real Madrid’s title hopes.
All Eyes On Real Madrid’s Future
Vinicius, since signing for an initial fee of $19 million, has had flashes of brilliance for Real Madrid. However, he is only 20. He, along with Rodrygo, are thought of as ones for the future.
With the recent absence of Karim Benzema due to an injury, Zinedine Zidane’s team was struggling in bringing the attack to a conclusion. Vinicius then stepped up to keep his team’s chances for the title alive. Scoring important goals will be expected of him if he is to repay Real Madrid’s faith in his talents.
For the rest of the league, Getafe secured a victory through a goal by Carles Alena. The player is on loan from FC Barcelona. However, it does not seem like his parent club needs a further boost in midfield for the current season with how Frenkie De Jong is performing. Getafe had signed another midfielder from Nou Camp, Marc Curcurella, in 2020. Both of them have turned out to be excellent acquisitions.
Granada also managed to get three points from their meeting with Elche, with the help of another loan signing, Quina. This result has secured their mid-table standing. Quina, a young and talented player, was a desperate signing from English side Watford.
The flourishing loan signings indicate how important it is for loan deals currently in La Liga. The Spanish League has been devoid of big-name signings in recent years.
