Ron DeSantis

Ron DeSantis, the Governor of Florida, recently signed a bill that was focused on parental laws and rights and it deals with banning the educational authorities to stop teaching about ‘gender identity and ‘sexual orientation’ to the students till their third grade. He insisted the parents get involved regarding this matter as they have the right to do so.

Ron DeSantis Retorted Back At The Critics Of Hollywood

The bill is known as the Parental Rights in Education, and it was passed in Florida which is a Republican majority state. The Democrats criticized the bill as the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill and spread the misinformation that it bans all kinds of discussion related to being gay in the schools of Florida.

Amy Schumer, Regina Hall, and Wanda Sykes, the three co-hosts at the Oscars 2022 made fun of this bill and repeated the word gay several times. Ron DeSantis retorted back at the critics stating that he wears this bill as a badge of honor if it is criticized by people like Harvey Weinstein.

Joe Biden, the President of America, called this bill a hateful one and stated that this bill would negatively impact the LGBTQI+ community and their children. He also added that these minority populations are accepted and loved as they are and he would always support them and his administration will always fight for their rights and safety.

In the views of the White House, this bill makes the lives of children harder and would put a mental burden on the kids. However, the bill does not reject the use of the word ‘gay’ on the school premises and also allows casual discussion about those mentioned topics with the children.

According to Christina Pushaw, a spokesperson of Ron DeSantis, the Governor is facing huge threats from people regarding the boycott of the bill.
