Russell Westbrook, The Previous MVP Traded To The Lakers

Westbrook joining the Lakers would be a big boost for the team. They will look to bank on the experience of Westbrook and aim for the championship. He is expected to draw a salary of $44m in the coming season. The Lakers needed to keep ample funds to cover the expense. They traded Harrell, Kyle Kazuma & Pope. The combined salaries of the three athletes amounted to $36m.

Initially, it would seem that Westbrook was a misfit in the Lakers. The team is currently placed 24th in the 3-pointer table. Russell Westbrook is not known to be a very prominent 3-pointer. He only has an average success rate of 30.5. However, the vast experience that he brings in would surely benefit the Lakers.

Russell Westbrook is a great playmaker. The Lakers will try to reap rich benefits from his experiences. He is expected to make the task of their primary playmaker James smoother. Westbrook will be playing the second fiddle to James. Westbrook boasts of having the most number of assists in the NBA. He has achieved this feat four years in a row. Russell’s all-around ability, his dynamic style of play should make the Lakers a formidable side. The recent addition should boost their chances of going to the top.
