Sara Bareilles, the 43-year-old singer, finally announced her engagement to 40-year-old Joe Tippett, who had apparently proposed to her. In a post on Instagram, Bareilles added a photo of herself looking at Tippett with the caption, “Yes to marrying this man. It’s an easy, earned, relaxed YES.”
She further spoke about how this person was exactly what she wanted from life. She stated that the more she knew him, the more she loved him, and he had helped her understand parts and sides of her that she couldn’t love before. She finally added that getting married to Tippett was simply a gift, and nothing would ever change that.

Sara Bareilles and Joe Tippett met when they were working on the set of the musical adaptation of the 2007 film Waitress, for which the singer had written the score. They had been introduced to each other during the out-of-town tryout that took place at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts in August 2015.
Tippett had played the role of Earl, who was the moody husband of Jenna, the protagonist of the story- although he hadn’t initially transferred with the entire production when it had been shifted initially to Broadway in the April of 2016. When he had been established for the role, he had missed Bareilles- who had already completed her sold-out run as Jenna.
Nevertheless, fate shone on them, and Tippett and Sara Bareilles completed their three-year anniversary in the September of 2018, and the singer of ‘Love Song’ posted about it on Instagram which was accompanied by a series of pictures that the couple shared their Instagram over the years. While fans thought that Tippett had proposed to Bareilles back then- it was not to be. Fortunately- the proposal came in 2022, and she said yes.
