Nearly a dozen states in the United States are considering sending tax refund stimulus checks to their residents to help them cope with the worst inflation rates in 40 years.

California: Governor Gavin Newsom wants to provide citizens of the state direct compensation of $400 per car, with a two-vehicle limit. This money may be given out as early as July.

Georgia: Gov. Brian Kemp has signed a bill into law that would send $250 to anybody who filed as a single taxpayer after submitting their 2020 and 2021 tax returns, 375 dollars to the head of household, and 500 dollars to those who are married filing jointly.

Hawaii: Back in January, Governor David Ige proposed giving each taxpayer and their dependents $100, implying that a family of four would get $400.

Idaho: Gov. Brad Little signed a law in February that contains a tax rebate of 350 million dollars, which will apply to 12% of an individual’s 2020 Idaho income tax return or $75 for each taxpayer and dependent.

Indiana: According to the IndyStar, any Indiana citizens who paid their taxes in 2022 will receive a reward of 125 dollars.

Maine: Gov. Janet Mills wants the state’s budget bill to deliver 850 dollars to the majority of citizens.

The Stimulus Checks Hope To Offset The High Prices

Minnesota: Gov. Tim Walz has unveiled a plan to spend the state’s budget surplus, which includes sending $1,000 income tax refund checks to couples.

New Jersey: As part of a budget deal in 2021, Gov. Phil Murphy included cash checks of up to $500 for about one million households, at a time when the governor and legislature were up for election.

New Mexico: Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham signed a bill earlier this month that would issue $250 stimulus checks to individuals and $500 rebate checks to married couples.

New York: Governor Kathy Hochul has proposed a one-billion-dollar property-tax refund scheme as part of a tax relief proposal for New Yorkers.

Virginia: Lawmakers are expected to enact tax relief in the form of a stimulus check, but the amount has yet to be determined.
