During the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, the federal government issued three stimulus cheques, and many people are waiting for more. Millions of people have signed a petition calling for continuing payouts during the pandemic.

Having additional funds in your bank account may sound good, but receiving the fourth check would be very negative news.

A fourth stimulus check wouldn’t be a good idea for one obvious reason. The federal government offers stimulus funding when it is deemed vital to boost a weak economy or assist citizens in weathering a financial catastrophe.

Here Is Why Stimulus Check Of Another Round Is The Last Thing America Want:

For instance, each initial stimulus check authorized by Congress was distributed while the United States was under heavy lockdown. People were extremely concerned about how they would pay their bills as the pandemic raged. The third payment, which was opposed by Republicans and backed solely by Democrats, was approved before COVID limitations were largely loosened nationwide.

Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, whenever the federal government provided financial assistance, it was typically during a financial crisis or recession. And this makes sense since Congress is not pressured to agree on legislation providing financial aid while things are going well.

For another stimulus payment to be made, the nation would either need to experience a severe recession or the COVID-19 pandemic would need to worsen again, maybe due to a more virulent strain for which the vaccines were ineffective. Nobody wanted these things to happen, even if it meant another payment had to be made.
