Many Americans have come out in protest of the lockdowns due to the coronavirus pandemic. The economy is spiraling downwards and many Americans are getting laid off from their jobs without any security notice for the future. In this scenario, Trump has partially supported the protests happening across the country. He mentioned: “There are a lot of protests out there. And I just think that some of the governors have gotten carried away.”

He had previously tweeted that Virginia, Minnesota, and Michigan should be liberated. Trump even criticized the Governor of Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer, that she was being too strict in the way she was imposing the lockdown in her state. Plus, the Governor of Virginia, Ralph Northam, was criticized because he had put in a few gun-control measures that had nothing to do with the virus. There have been protests in Michigan, New Jersey, California, and Ohio.

After a few hours of Trump’s speech, there have been a few more protests happening across the countries. Protests happened in Indiana, Maryland, Wisconsin, Texas, and Nevada. These protests are not following the social-distancing rules that are being enforced by the government. There is always a possibility of things worsening if such protests are allowed to take place.
