Mayor Bill de Blasio expresses his criticism after President Trump claims the country has a “tremendous capacity” for testing the spread of COVID-19.
“The president is simply lying about the availability of all those components of testing, the swabs and everything,” Hizzoner told MSNBC.
De Blasio made an appearance on CNN and accused Trump of lying and called his decision to support anti-social distancing protesters idiotic.
“They don’t want to use all of the capacity that we’ve created. We have tremendous capacity…The governors know that. The Democrat governors know that; they’re the ones that are complaining.”, said President Donald Trump.
He also slammed the president on his inaction to fund cash-strapped cities and states as Congress decides on its economic rescue legislation. He further accused the president of turning his back on his own hometown.
With a death toll of 32,000, the United States is one of the hardest-hit countries. Anthony Fauci stated that the country still does not have sufficient testing capacity.
