White House

The House GOP has demanded access to the visitor logs from President Biden’s home in Delaware. They want to determine who may have been able to access classified documents that were discovered in the house in November last year.

Republican Rep. James Comer has demanded to see the visitor logs. The Secret Service has claimed that there are no such records have been kept, as it was the president’s private residence. Comer has said that he is not willing to trust the Justice Dept. with this investigation.

The White House Council’s office said that logs were never kept at the personal residence of an American President. It was Joe Biden who restored the tradition and norm of keeping logs after President Trump ended them.

Trump Has Refused To Release Logs Of White House Visitors

Trump has refused to release the logs of White House visitors during his tenure, breaking long-held customs. The GOP Chairman of the Oversight Committee has demanded the logs of visitors from the Wilmington house after the classified papers were discovered in the garage and office.

The GOP has strived to compare documents found at the house with that of the then-president. Trump refused to cooperate till the FBI raid on his Florida home and residence.

The legal White House team of President Biden said that it found confidential documents that were linked to his house and his tenure as the vice president during President Barack Obama’s rule. Biden’s lawyers have reported finding 5 more pages at his residence. The papers at the think tank were discovered this November with the disclosure going public following a media disclosure.

A special counsel was appointed by Merrick Garland the US Attorney General. It has been tasked with the handling of sensitive administrative documents by the then vice-president. A separate counsel is looking into Trump’s management of secret documents and also his repeated though unsuccessful efforts to overturn the presidential elections in 2020.
