Rookie, Yermin Mercedes chose to move away from baseball. This comes after an elongated form of poor shows from him as he was dropped to the lower ranks.

He uploaded a picture saying that it was over, on Instagram. He thanked the fans for their support and thanked God for providing him the life he dreamt of.

Tony LaRussa heard about his decision and rushed in to lend a hand. He thinks that Mercedes can build a future in the major leagues. LaRussa thinks that Mercedes has become over-emotional and is making this decision without thinking much about it. Yermin has experienced what the big leagues taste like and should not go forward but think about such a decision.

The Yermin Mercedes Show

Yermin Mercedes ignited the offense by batting at .415 which included 5 home runs and got 16 RBIs. All this was achieved in just 22 games. Chicago was pushed on forward with such consistent performances

Mercedes also homed in the ninth, while being 3-0, where the Sox led by 15 to 4.

He slowed down in his last 31 games, where he scored .150 before getting demoted to Charlotte in July.

LaRussa believes in his heart that Yermin Mercedes is a talented athlete and has earned what he got. LaRussa thinks that Mercedes requires some adjustment after looking into some old footage of his games. He also believes that he can play in the major leagues as soon as he makes those adjustments. Mercedes needs to get his head back into the ball game and not get too big for his boots.

The Sox said that Yermin Mercedes was on the team sheet for their Triple-A squad in Charlotte and was also aware of his post. The management has not received formal information about Mercedes’s future.
