Cheryl Burke, one of the professional dancers in this season’s “Dancing With the Stars” has confirmed to have been infected with a COVID-19 breakthrough case. On Sunday, the dancer announced the news in a video where she appeared tearful. In this season, Cheryl Burke was partnered with Cody Rigsby, the Peloton instructor.

Cheryl Burke Is Deeply Apologetic

On Sunday, 37-year-old Cheryl Burke had uploaded a video on her Instagram to share the news. She said that she had very bad news and that her COVID-19 test had returned positive. She received the news just then and that she had been anxiously waiting for the report since 7 in the morning.

Cheryl Burke, who tried desperately to not break down in the video, said that she felt very bad for Cody Rigsby. She also felt overwhelmed as the report came in only 24 hours before Monday when DWTS was scheduled to film the next episode.

Cheryl Burke had already been vaccinated with Moderna’s vaccine. She said that she will be in compulsory quarantine for at least 10 days now. She will be following the guidelines issued by the CDC for people who test positive even though they are vaccinated. ABC is yet to give a comment on the matter.

Burke said that she felt scared and did not know how to put the situation into words. She also said that she was feeling a little ill. She repeatedly regretted potentially letting Cody down since their salsa routine was supposed to be excellent.

Fellow competitors on the DWTS as well as fans showered her with support on her social media. Amanda Kloots, the co-host of “The Talk” and Jimmie Allen, the country singer, was among the people who supported her. Rigsby is yet to make a public statement as well.
