Chris Rock Jokes About The Aftermath Of Will Smith’s Oscar 2022 Slap

Chris Rock

Chris Rock had a gala time at a tour stop in Atlanta, just a couple of hours after Will Smith released an apology video for his infamous slap at the Oscars.

Back in March, Smith had slapped Rock on stage after the comedian had made a joke about Will Smith’s wife’s lack of hair. He also compared her to a character in the movie G. I. Jane. Incidentally, Pinkett-Smith has always been quite outspoken about her troubles with alopecia, which is the root cause of her hair loss. Rock went on to acknowledge this exceedingly shocking moment during his Friday performance at the Chris Rock Ego Death World Tour. CNN reported that the 57-year-old comedian believed that every single person was trying to be a victim on the Internet.

Will Smith Apologizes Over Chris Rock Slap

Chris Rock further stated that if everybody started claiming that they were a victim, then nobody would actually hear the real victims. He also brought up his own incident with Will Smith- where he mentioned that despite getting slapped, he didn’t make himself out to be a victim, and actually went to work the next day. He then went on to compare Will Smith with Suge Smith, the former CEO of Death Row Records who is currently serving 28 years for voluntary manslaughter. Rock added that anyone who considered words to hurt a lot had obviously never been punched in the face.

On the same day, Will Smith uploaded a social media video where he ended up apologizing to Chris Rock for the slap. The video definitely answered quite a few questions that people around the world had regarding the event. The title card read that Will Smith had been thinking a lot about the incident over the last couple of months, as well as doing a lot of personal work. He also mentioned that he had tried reaching out to Rock due to the incident, but Rock had not been ready to speak to the star of Fresh Prince.
