Eagles lost to the Steelers in a 25-16 result during the second presentation of the Steelers on Thursday night. Dwayne Haskins emerged as the hero of the NFL match, showcasing his talents as the second quarterback, leading the Steelers to three scoring drives during the second half. He also managed to make Anothony Johnson a pass that led to a touchdown.

With Haskins as a quarterback, Pittsburgh secured 11 out of 17. During the game the number of first downs completed by the Steelers was 28, outsourcing the Eagles by a broad margin of 17-0 in the next half.

Although the team had started the game in an impressive form, they failed to hold to keep it up for long as throws were dropped eventually, failing to extend the lead of the team. The offense of the first team of the Eagles secured three points during two possessions.

The Philadelphia Eagles extended to a lead of 13-0 when they scored in succession. A big play came in from Quez Watkins by a touchdown of 79-yards with just 33-seconds left, putting Philadelphia in a lead by 10-0. The team did not succeed in their attempts during the preseason and failed to uphold the expectations from the new head coach, Nick Sirianni.

Why Did The Eagles Lose The Match?

Eagles do not have to worry regarding the starters and their second team. However, the roster consisting of 53 players did not create a great impression in the minds of the fans, and rightly so. The roster was cut on Tuesday to 85. In the attempt of trying to give the players as many reps in the game as possible, Jonathan Gannon didn’t rotate the defensive players of the third team.

This had caused the Eagles to be gassed and winded on the match in the evening, thereby decreasing their chances of a win.
