Former 49ers Player Dana Stubblefield Convicted Of Rape, Faces Life In Prison

On Monday, former NFL Football player Dana Stubblefield was found guilty of rape, as announced by a Santa Clara County Jury.

The former 49ers player, who played for San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders and Washington, is reportedly to face 15 years of life in prison for the crime. The sentence was given by a Santa Clara County jury.

The victim, who was 31 at the time of the incident, is a developmentally disabled woman lured to his Morgan Hill Home with a promise of a babysitting job.

The Monday verdict came after trial that lasted nearly nine months. The victim had reported the incident way back in April 2015 and she received the verdict five years after her report.

“This was a triumph of resilience,” Santa Clara County District Attorney Jeff Rosen mentioned in a statement.

“The victim has struggled her whole life with learning disabilities and challenges to be self-sufficient. If we are not fighting for her, then who are we fighting for?”

Besides other accusations, Stubblefield was also accused of using a gun during the assault, mentioned the prosecutor.
