France Beat Morocco And Kept Their Hand On The Golden Cup As Reigning Champions

France

France has beaten Morocco to end the fairytale run of the Atlas Lions at last. However, the Moroccan team and their supporters have many reasons to be happy returning home.

The African side has been having a dream run in Qatar World Cup in 2022. They have qualified from the group of Croatia and Belgium, defeated supergiants like Luis Enrique’s Spain and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal to enter in the semi finals fixtures. However, the reigning World Cup Champions in France become a little too much to handle for them.

France beat them 2-0 to still keep their dreams of becoming World Champions two consecutive times, alive. A feat that very few countries have achieved yet.

France Shattered The Moroccan Dream:

An early score from left back Theo Hernandez, and a late one from Randal Kolo Munai from Kylian Mbappe’s assist will see the Didier Deschamps side in the final of the World Cup where they are going to face Lionel Messi and his in-form Argentina side.

Deschamps after the match has said that there are a continuous flow of pride, emotion as they are entering into the final stages of the tournament after spending the last month together.

France’s national side is probably the only team that showed consistency and dominance apart from Messi’s Argentina and thus, football fans all over the world are in for a quality finale before the curtains drop and their wait for another four year begin.

Olivier Girou d however, will not be very happy listening to the rumors of Karim Benzema being fit and might come back in the squad before the finals as he has missed one of France’s easiest chances in the first half from the point-blank range after an amazing run from Aurelien Tchouameni. However, the French defense and their goalkeeper and captain Hugo Lloris performed incredibly as they formed a wall in front of the goal that did not break despite Morocco’s numerous attacks.
