Following his impersonation of Gwyneth Paltrow joking about something regarding her ski case, Matthew Koma, Hilary Duff’s husband’s account on Twitter has been banned. The singer, 35, who is Hilary Duff’s husband, updated his social media profile picture to match Paltrow’s official account picture and changed his handle to match hers.

He later replied to a quip posted by an individual about Paltrow talking with Terry Sanderson., the plaintiff in her Utah lawsuit, after she emerged victorious in the case and was given a $1 damage award. A screengrab showed that when someone posted, he will take his $1 now,  next to the photo, Koma, who was impersonating Paltrow, 50, responded, “Same dude.” Soon after, Koma announced via his Instagram Stories that the gag had “permanently suspended” his Twitter account. He noted: that the prank was absolutely worth it.

Afterward, Koma posted on Instagram, thanking everyone for their wonderful words even though it was difficult for him to get closure. The star further added that it was his audience that gives him hope and strength and makes him eager for another chance to mimic a celeb on social media. He concluded the post by thanking Gweneth Paltrow for being his inspiration.

According to Twitter’s standards against “misleading identities”,  one shall not mimic people, groups, or conglomerates to confuse, mislead or deceive other people nor may one use a false image in a certain way that interferes with others’ Twitter experiences.

Hilary Duff, Koma’s wife, has previously talked about her husband’s love of pulling practical jokes and his propensity for “hot views” on the news. On The Kelly Clarkson Show earlier this year, she revealed how Koma had previously torn up a copy of a magazine and stuck pictures of the Jonas Brothers on their framed pictures all over their house.
