Hugh Jackman Tests Positive For Covid

Australian actor, Hugh Jackman, took to Twitter to announce his diagnosis. He wrote that he tested positive for the deadly pandemic. He did not want his fans to speculate. 

On his Instagram account, Hugh Jackman explained that he wanted his 30M followers to hear the truth directly from him. The same morning he tested positive for covid. His symptoms are very similar to a normal cold. Runny nose and sore throat were visibly ailing Hugh Jackman in the post. 

Hugh Jackman’s Musical To Be Put On Hold

Hugh Jackman stars in The Music Man. It is a musical created by Meredith Willson. The Music Man will be canceled by Broadway. Broadway plans to push The Music Man to January 1. Broadway had to cancel shows in NYC, on Christmas, and the day after because of the covid cases. Most of the cast and crew have been infected. Hugh Jackman plays the role of Prof Harold Hill. 

Broadway posted on Twitter explaining their covid situation. They said that The Music Man will not resume before the first day of next year. For audiences to see Jackman performing, they must wait till January 6. Hundreds of thousands of good wishes flooded Hugh Jackman’s social media pages. 

Covid-19 has put a stop to many musicals. Musicals like Waitress, Jagged Pill, and Ain’t Too Proud have forever bid adieu to Broadway. Harry Potter along with Hamilton returned on 28 December. They had been out of production for weeks. Alladin and Lion King returned on 29 December. 

Omicron, a covid variant, is now wreaking havoc in the US. It is highly infectious and deadly. CDCP revealed data that showed Omicron being the cause for fifty-nine percent of the cases reported last week. 

90 performers in Australia have tested positive for covid. Most theater productions are in quarantine. Sydney and Melbourne are being forced to cancel shows.
