John Lynch of the San Francisco 49ers mentioned that they were never a part of the discussion that involved a deal with New York Jets safety Jamal Adams. According to Matt Maiocco, San Francisco 49ers never found themselves a part of the trade deals that saw Adams traded to the Seattle Seahawks last week.
With ESPN reporting that both the Dallas Cowboys and 49ers wishing to get involved with Jamal Adams, John Lynch clearly refuted the claim and stated that had no interest or information going into the player. “Totally inaccurate,” Lynch said. “We did not ever make a call about the player.”
Interestingly, Jamal Adams himself wanted to be traded to the 49ers, but the club wasn’t interested in acquiring another safety after they have already hired the services of Jacquiski Tartt, and Jimmie Ward. They seem quite well proportioned in the hands of these two good talents.
To acquire Jamal Adams, Seahawks had to trade in two first-round picks along with a third-round pick and Bradley McDougald to fill in the gaps in their team. And considering the talent, Jamal Adams is, chances are they got him at a bargain.
