Kamala Harris Being In The Pride Event Created History

Kamala Harris, the first woman Vice-President from the United States of America has made another historical headline. She became the first VP of the country to take part in the “Pride Event” that was held at the Capital Pride in Washington. None of her predecessors have ever been part of the event before. The Democrat was accompanied by her husband, Doug Emhoff who is the Second Gentleman of the country. The event took place this Saturday.

The 49th VP of America chose to wear a shirt that went well with the theme of the event. It read, “love is love.” Kamala Harris happily flaunted her outfit as she marched with the other participants. The 56th-year-old Democrat became a part of the Freedom Plaza event as she congratulated everybody saying “Happy Pride!” The VP went on to speak a few lines at the event. She made mention of the “Equality Act. She stated that the administration of Joe Biden, the sitting President, was trying their best to provide equality for the rights of those belonging to the community of LGBTQ. 

Kamala Harris claimed that the protection of the community of transgenders and the youth was the need of the hour. And the protection was also to be provided when it came to housing and employment. The Democratic politician stated the need to quickly solve the things that need attention.

She stated that there were so many things that needed to be achieved and further reiterated their commitment to fighting to achieve it.  Kamala Harris also observed the anniversary of the shooting that took place at the Pulse Nightclub over the social media platform, Twitter. In the shooting that took place in the year 2016, a total of 49 people were killed. The incident took place at a gay club called “Orlando” which took place on the 12 of June.
