Kelly Clarkson has to bear a huge amount to get out of her marriage. The superstar wanted to pursue her life as an independent woman. She filed a divorce against her husband Brandon Blackstock. However, keeping in mind the circumstances, the court order was passed. The court of Los Angeles asked Clarkson to bear a staggering amount. This amount would be paid as alimony to Blackstock.
Kelly Clarkson To Shell Out $200k To Husband Post Divorce
Kelly seemed to have issues with her married. She thus sought an independent life. However, a heavy price tag was put on her after the verdict was passed recently. Her case was being judged at the court of Los Angeles. The judge ordered the singer to bear all the expenses for Blackstock and her children.
Clarkson will now have to pay $150000 monthly for bearing Blackstock’s expenses. She will also bear her children’s charges. These were estimated at $45601 per month. These expenses are likely to cross well over $2.3m in a year. In addition to these, Blackstock is entitled to receive $1.25m for coping with his legal expenses.
Blackstock was the manager of Kelly. They tied the knot in 2013. The couple has two children namely River & Remington. Things, however, did not go as planned. Kelly filed her lawsuit in the June of 2020. She filed her final legal papers in July after the issue with payments was resolved.
Kelly Clarkson stated that divorce was never a great experience. She narrated how tough the last few months had been. She reflected on the stressful procedures one has to go through after a divorce is filed. She has agreed to pay the expenses of her children. Kelly stressed how much her children were important to her. She was ready to do any adjustments for them.
