Lewis Hamilton is confused as to why some athletes are putting the pandemic behind them.

Seven-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton says that he is battling for the 2021 title while remaining in constant fear of the virus.

He was still alone at home and is managing things a little better, thanks to the experience in the previous year. But he is still living in constant fear.

Lewis already had COVID, when he tested positive after last year’s Bahrain GP, back in November. The virus kept him out of the Sakhir Grand Prix on the 6th of December. He was recovering from COVID, in the first half of the season and considers it to be the toughest experience he’s ever had.

Lewis Hamilton Is Not Over The Fear Of The Virus

Hamilton now says the fear is that another COVID infection will mean game over for the championship. He trails Max Verstappen by 8 points in the championship and missing a race due to a positive test would almost certainly end his chances for an eighth title.

Lewis Hamilton stated that last year it was only 6 months, owing to the short season, but this time it is for the whole year. The rules had been somewhat relaxed in certain areas, which made it easier for people to get careless and get into trouble. This is what he always keeps at the back of his mind. The way he deals with social contact is way different from what he did in the past. He, now, keeps his distance from everyone and holds his breath when people are around.
