Michelle Wu has created history. She has been elected to contest for the position of Mayor of Boston. Wu has her nose in front by leading the runoff with a 33% majority. This is a historic scenario in the political history of Boston. 

Boston has been ruled by male Mayors for over two centuries. This will be the first instance where Boston will get a woman Mayor. The residents have elected two of the most capable women to run for the post. Annissa Essaibi George and Michelle Wu will fight among each other for the post of Mayor. 

The elections are expected to take place in the month of November. Michelle is a successful lawyer in her personal life. She also has a membership of the City Council for Boston. The nomination for the position of Mayor was initially filed by five candidates. The citizens fittingly chose the women in the runoff.

Apart from the fact that Boston will get its first woman Mayor, the election holds more significance. One of Five prospective candidates was expected to be the Mayor. Apart from Wu & George, the other candidates were Kim Janey, Andrea Campbell & John Barros. A notable feature about this lineup is that all the candidates are of color. This breaks the stereotype of Boston politics being dominated by white politicians. 

The parents of Michelle Wu were immigrants. They initially resided in Taiwan and later shifted to the USA. Unofficial numbers stated Wu leading the chart with 33% votes. George followed suit at second position with a tally of 22%. We spoke to the media while expressing her joy. She stated her ecstasy and thanked the citizens for trusting her with the honor.
