The 2023 NBA championship was won by the Denver Nuggets on June 13 against the Miami Heat. This victory became the Nuggets’ very first NBA championship title. Star Nuggets players Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic contributed greatly to the victory of their team with their brilliant performances. The Miami Heat meanwhile has suffered a disheartening loss in the finals. Key Heat player Jimmy Butler has commented on his team’s position after losing June 13’s game stating that the Heat will be fine. The Heat might have to reconsider and bring change in their roster.

While the Nuggets look forward to maintaining their dominance in the following season after their NBA championship. They may face serious challenges from the Phoenix Suns and its star player Kevin Durant as well as the Los Angeles Lakers with its brilliant player LeBron James. The Denver Nuggets are now world champions. The Nuggets may hold on to its five key players namely, Murray, Jokic, Aaron Gordon, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Michael Porter Jr. as their contracts are still effective till 2024-2025. However, that is not the same for Bruce Brown. Bruce is a reserve player for the Nuggets, who might charge a raised salary.

Nikola Jokic’s Rise With NBA Win

Nikola Jokic, the star player for the Denver Nuggets, whose contribution is huge for the team’s 2023 NBA championship, just wants to return home to his horses. The 28-year-old Serbian basketball player had signed a record contract extension worth $264 million and is within the contract with the Nuggets till 2027-28. After winning the NBA finals, Jokic simply stated on his team’s victory, that it is good and the job is done, and now the players can go back home. Jokic has also praised Novak Djokovic, the Serbian tennis player as the very best, and now with him, Serbia has a NBA championship winner player.
