Neve Campbell, a Hollywood actor, has shared that she will not be a part of the sequel of ‘Scream’. This is mainly due to the reason that she received an inadequate offer to feature in the sixth installment of the franchise.

Neve Campbell has stated to The Hollywood Reporter where she said that she is sad about not starring in ‘Scream 6’. She further added that she had to work twice as hard since she is a woman and has finally established her place in the industry. As a result, she is unwilling to accept pay disparity that does not give proper value to her. Her pay was not as much as the stardom she would have brought to the franchise.

Pay Disparity For Neve Campbell

In the original 1996 movie made by Kevin Williamson along with Wes Craven, Neve Campbell played the central character named Sidney Prescott. She along with the characters played by David Arquette and Courteney Cox, among others, had a deadly face-off with a killer who was nicknamed, Ghostface. The sixth installment of this horror franchise had also been planned by Paramount in collaboration with Spyglass after the success of the fifth chapter at the beginning of this year.

Stardom Vs Payment

Neve Campbell stated that this decision to step back from ‘Scream2’ was very difficult for her. She also apologized to the fans of the franchise and said that she sincerely wanted to be a part of it. She respects everyone associated with it and feels grateful. However, she will not accept any disrespect and does not allow others to undermine her hard work.

‘Scream 6’ is scheduled to release in theatres on 31st March 2023 according to the reports of Hollywood Reporter.
