Nicki Minaj and her husband have landed in a whole bowl of trouble after a victim accused her husband of sexual harassment. According to reports, Kenneth Petty, Minaj’s better half, had sexually assaulted a woman in 1994, and the victim has accused the couple of trying to force her into recanting her accusations. It has also been reported that Petty ended up serving four and a half years in prison after he pleaded guilty after he sexually assaulted the woman- who was 16 at that time.

The victim has since then filed a lawsuit against Nick Minaj and her husband with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. She has alleged that the couple had intimidated and harassed her for trying to make her revoke her story.

As TMZ states, the lawsuit states that the victim and her immediate family were on the receiving end of several communication threads after Petty was locked up having failed to register himself as a sex offender in the state of California. Then, the couple ended up paying hush money to the woman and her family if she ended up recanting her allegations. At a point, the couple was willing to pay up to $500,000.

Papers recorded in the state court highlight the fact that Nicki Minaj did call the victim the previous year and ended up inviting her and her immediate family to LA to help her out of the mess. The rapper also promised her own publicist who would draft her recanting statement. Needless to say, the victim rejected all these inducements- and that is when the trouble started. She and her family kept getting harassing calls as well as unsolicited visits from people who she believed to be intrinsically associated with the couple.

The victim also told Nicki Minaj the entire story of what happened- saying that she needed the other woman to know exactly what she went through.
