Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema did not fail to impress in the opening game as he scored the brace. Losing no form and picking up things where he left off last season, Karim led Real Madrid to a wonderful victory against Alaves.

According to Real Madrid coach Carlos Ancelotti, Benzema has developed over the years and has transformed into a complete player. Nacho Fernandez, who is among the defenders and has stepped in for replacing Sergio Ramos, the veteran ex-captain, who had to exit the club after 16 long seasons since the club was not interested to extend the contract.

Benzema happens to be the top player at Real Madrid at the moment, finishing highest in the number of goals scored last season, playing under Zinedine Zidane. He put the team ahead after a goal from within the box that came after a cheeky heel from Eden Hazard. The first goal happened 48 minutes into the game, while he scored his second at the 62nd.

This win marked Madrid to remain unbeaten in the opening games of the league since 2008. Although the club went without winning any titles the previous season, RMCF has been a major contender among football clubs all across the world.

Real Madrid’s Opening Win

Nearly 4000 fans were in attendance at the stadium for the Real Madrid vs Alaves match. The health authorities in Spain have allowed the games to restart with 40% crowd capacity in the stadiums.

This was the first of the three back-to-back matches that Madrid has to play away. The first home game for Real Madrid in Bernabeu is scheduled to be held in September. Although the stadium is under renovation, the matches would still be hosted.

Two of the major players in the squad are missing as Sergio Ramos has moved to PSG and Raphael Varane has moved to United.
