Rick Santorum, the former Senator of the United States of America, gave a comment that was targeted at the community of Native Americans. The comment he made was at a platform of a conference of the rightwing students.

The political commentator of the popular news channel, CNN, claimed that the colonists who came to America from Europe gave birth to a nation that was nothing until their arrival. Following this, there was outrage among the concerned communities all over the country. They began to advocate for the dismissal of Rick Santorum.

Rick Santorum’s White Supremacist Attitude

The name of the conference attended by the former Senator was the Foundation summit of Young America. He stated that there was basically nothing in the American land prior to the arrival of the European forefathers.

Rick Santorum further talked about the quintessential culture of America. Though he acknowledged the fact that Native Americans lived there, it was stated that the real culture of America has nothing to do with that of the Native Americans. Everything about the summit had been shared over the social media platform, YouTube. The comments made by the commentator sparked anger among the members of the community of Native Americans all over the country.

Following this, Nick Estes, one of the citizens of the tribes called the Lower Brule Sioux, took to the social media platform, Twitter, to reply to Rick Santorum. Estes wrote that the survival of culture and history of the Native Americans even after getting attacked countless times by the empire of white supremacists, was enough proof. Estes is also a host of the podcast, Red Nation.

According to the remarks of the failed presidential candidate from the Republican party, it is quite clear that he is in favor of the colonization that was carried out by the White supremacists in the name of “religious freedom.”
