Selena Gomez went for an utterly classic 90s look for her appearance on the Late Show With Stephen Colbert. The famous singer and star of the ‘Only Murders in the Building’ was decked up in a black Glemaud fall ‘20 minidress. She then went on to layer it with a matching cardigan- effortlessly creating a look that not only screamed comfort, but was eerily reminiscent of the 1990s fashion of matching skirts and knits. Gomez decided to round off her look with a French manicure coupled with a bold red lip- a classic beauty.

The footwear Selena Gomez chose for this appearance was also minimalist. Her black Amber sandals from Saint Laurent had thin ankle and toe straps coupled with heels that seemed to be around 4 inches in height.

When the whole image came up as one, her footwear definitely created a monochrome effect that was not only classic but seamlessly sharp. Needless to say, with fashion icons like Gomez styling it, monochrome outfits have turned out to be one of the biggest styling hacks of the season.

This trick of styling, as shown by Selena Gomez, involves pairing footwear, clothes, and accessories that are in the same prints, tones, or colors, which would create a beautifully streamlined look. There have been several stars that have featured this look- Nicki Minaj, Zendaya, and Anya Taylor-Joy come to mind for they have worn single-tone looks from Dior and Alaia in the last few weeks.

When it comes to the shoe style of Selena Gomez, the star has often been seen with staple pairs on and off the red carpet. The star regularly puts on metallic sandals along with toe pumps that are neutrally pointed- which have been provided by brands like Prada, Gianvito Rossi, and Christian Louboutin. When she has an off-day, her outfits fit in white sneakers, along with Ugg slippers.
