While Monica Lewinsky feels that she no longer needs an apology from Bill Clinton, she believes he should feel guilty enough to pass one. This was stated by the former intern of the White House, who appeared on NBC for the premiere of Impeachment: American Crime Story, which dramatized the affair Clinton had with the 22-year-old Lewinsky back in the 1990s.

When she was asked if Clinton owed her an apology, she stated that the time had passed for her to resolutely need it- which at one point was a priority for her.

Monica Lewinsky Has Received Closure From the Clinton Scandal

In her interview, she mentioned a point in her life when she couldn’t find this closure from an ordeal that had justifiably put quite a damper on her political career. But, she is grateful that she doesn’t require it any further. Yet, she believes that the former President should have the desire to apologize. For her, this was a simple humane action that everyone went through when they hurt people through their actions.

Bill Clinton’s actions made Monica Lewinsky suffer- it was only natural that Clinton apologized for that. In a previous interview with Vanity Fair, she stated that she wasn’t as disappointed with Clinton that he failed to apologize; she was more disappointed that Clinton didn’t take the opportunity to be a better human being.

In her interview with Today, Monica Lewinsky stated that she was quite anxious about the general public seeing a lot of her behavior that she had come to regret. Also, she wondered how the entire scandal would have played out if it took place in the 21st century, rather than the 1990s.

Monica Lewinsky believes things would have been different- but maybe it wouldn’t have been as different as she believes other people want it to be.
