Governor Tom Wolf from Pennsylvania had already prepared a $1.7 billion stimulus check proposal all the way back in February 2022. The deal from Wolf went on to include a $2,000 payment to the citizens of the state. The $2000 check would definitely go a long way towards helping the residents with groceries, utilities, and gas. In a statement, Wolf stated that the citizens of the state shouldn’t have to choose between paying for their utilities or paying for childcare. Since the state has the opportunity and the means to ensure that the citizens are not struggling, this should definitely ensure the success of the proposal.

Wolf further stated that he was asking the General Assembly to unite despite their political differences for the sake of every citizen. He mentioned that if the General Assembly was successful in its attempt toward unification, it would simply help the commonwealth. As of now, both the House Democrats and the Senate have already introduced the bills that support the initiative of Governor Wolf in the appearance of a stimulus check proposal.

He also believes that with such tough times, prices have gone up on everything- from gas to groceries, and a stimulus check payment could be the solution that they look towards. While he would always look for long-term solutions that would help support the working families, he was currently proposing a solution that would be imperative to get the citizens of the state on their feet.

Every citizen of the state that has an annual payment of $80,000 or less will be eligible to receive a stimulus check payment of $2,000. In a press release, the Governor went on to claim that the program would be aiming toward helping those families that were still recovering from the pandemic. The program would also support the families dealing with their pandemic-related costs.
