The Winter Classic 2022 did see quite a heated match between the St. Louis Blues and the Minnesota Wild, despite the surrounding temperature freezing. The Blues managed to put through 5 goals in the second half itself to secure a 6-4 win over the Minnesota Wild. Jordan Kyrou, the center for the Blues led the way with a stellar performance in which he managed to score a couple of goals while dishing out two assists as well.

The Winter Classic 2022 Match Was A Jordan Kyrou Show

The match in the Winter Classic 2022 marked the first time in the history of the NHL that a player managed a four-point outing in an outdoor game. Both of the goals of Kyrou came in the second period itself in which the offense from St. Louis managed to wreak absolute havoc. With just 27 seconds into the game, Kyrou also managed to get credit for a goal when he was attempting to pass the puck to his teammate Vladimir Tarasenko. When Tarasenko ended up cutting in front of the net, the puck went off Ryan Hartman into the net.

The Winter Classic 2022 also saw Vladimir Tarasenko, the star winger from the Blues, getting in on the action. At the 8:55 mark of the period, Tarasenko let rip a one-timer off a beautiful pass from Kyrou which beat Talbot. This was the fifth consecutive match where Tarasenko had scored a goal, which has been the longest goal-scoring streak in his NHL career.

The Winter Classic 2022 match was played at sub-zero temperatures, but the players didn’t seem to be off their game a lot. At puck drop, the temperature was -8 degrees, which marks the coldest temperature for an outdoor NHL game.
