Britney Spears has been free from the suffocating constraints of her conservatorship. A judge in Los Angeles freed the pop singer from the bindings that had tied up her money and life for close to 14 years.

For now, the judgment puts an end to the spectacular journey that had led to Britney Spears calling for an end to the conservatorship. She had hired her attorney and had her father and other family member removed from the power that they wielded over her.

Britney is finally free to make financial, personal, and medical choices for the 1st time after 2008.

Brenda Penny, the Los Angeles Judge ruled that starting immediately, the conservatorship of Britney Spears was being terminated, applicable both personally and to her estate.

Fans erupted in jubilation in and around the courthouse. They shouted and cheered the moment the verdict was announced. They called out Spears’ name while dancing to Stronger.

Britney Spears Immediately Tweeted Her Victory

Britney Spears thanked her fans on social media and said that the whole thing was crazy. She was overcome with emotion. She praised the Lord and said it was the best day of her life.

Mathew Rosengart, Spears’ attorney told reporters and fans that her case had a focus on guardianship and conservatorship across the country and had taken a remarkable amount of courage, grace, and insight.

The judgment in Spears’ favor was broadly expected, as there appeared to be no grounds for extending the existing legal arrangement. Britney’s father or his attorney did not offer any interim or special arrangement.

The scenario was quite different even last spring when it seemed that her conservatorship that bound Britney Spears would continue perpetually.

Things started to unravel at a startling pace after that. Britney Spears’ speech set the ball rolling in June. She had then passionately spoken of the constraints, terming it ‘abusive,’ and had spoken about wanting to live a normal life.

Britney Spears was first suspended from his position as conservator. The judge had spoken of the ‘toxic environment’ that he had created.

Her attorney Rosengart has asserted that he would pursue an investigation into her father’s handling of her finances. His lawyers have said that Britney Spears’ father had acted in her best interests and the allegations made against him were unsubstantiated.
