Kathie Lee Gifford is on the road promoting her new book, but she’s not exactly spilling all the details about what happened between her and Kelly Ripa.

Kathie Lee Gifford is promoting her new book, My Life Is A Lifetime Movie, but that doesn’t mean she’s reading Kelly Ripa’s upcoming tome.

“I’m not gonna read it,” the 69-year-old cohost said Thursday on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. “I don’t know why you would want anyone else to read your book before you do.”

Gifford is also busy with other things like her new show Kathie & Hoda, which airs weekday mornings on ABC stations across the country (and will not be streaming). She said she can’t even imagine what it would feel like knowing that everyone was reading her personal thoughts. Gifford is on the road promoting her book and her new life post-Today.

Kathie Lee Gifford Dismisses Ripa’s Book

The co-host of Kathie Lee & Hoda has been traveling for over a year now, touring for her book, My Life, In and Out of the Kitchen: A Memoir with Recipes.

She’s been promoting it around the country and in Canada since last summer when she was fired from Today by NBC after years of feuding with Ripa over their time slots (they both wanted to host at 9 AM).

“I am very happy with what happened,” Gifford told People Magazine in March. “It was just time to move on. Gifford did not want to talk about her friendship with Kelly Ripa when asked by the media recently.

If you’re a fan of Kathie Lee Gifford, you know she’s known for her sense of humor. So it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that she was joking when she told Kelly Ripa at the start of Wednesday’s edition of Live! With Kelly and Ryan that she was going to read her own book.
