Mick Mulvaney Defies The Claims Of Donald Trump Concerning The “Capitol Riot”

Mick Mulvaney, the ex-chief of staff of the former president of the United States of America, Donald Trump, gave a statement recently. The ex-chief defied the claims of the ex-president with regard to the infamous Capitol Riot that took place in the month of January. the riot ended up killing a total of 5 people. The statement came in this Saturday.

Mick Mulvaney, as a protest against the Capitol riot, resigned. He was the special envoy of ex-president Trump to Northern Ireland. Trump had claimed that the rioters of the Capitol building did not pose any threat to the police officers. Trump had also claimed that the rioters went on to hug and kiss the officers on duty. However, this statement got defied by his ex-chief. He called the claims of Trump to be “manifestly false.”

Mick Mulvaney Claims Some Facts

Mick Mulvaney stated that the first reaction he had to the claims of the ex-president was that of surprise. He advocated the fact that not all of the people were violent but not all were peaceful either. And this is the very reason why it was extremely wrong of Donald Trump to say that nothing was risky and everybody was perfectly safe. Mick Mulvaney pointed out the reality that there were victims who were severely injured along with casualties.

The 53-year-old Mulvaney is among a dozen other senior officials to take action against the incident of the 6th of January. It includes Elaine Chao, the former secretary of the department of transportation, and Matt Pottinger, the former deputy advisor of the department of national security.

Earlier this week, the former president spoke about presidential elections that took place this year stating that there were some irregularities with it. He added that he was supposed to come out as the winner.
