Manchester United midfield Paul Pogba had been missing from the field since 6th February. The manager had hinted at a possible return for Milan v Man United. The French footballer made an impact as soon as he came off the bench at halftime putting his side forward three minutes later.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who had also played for Manchester United in the past, put in a valiant effort to give Milan a chance. However, a 74th minute spectacular save from Dean Henderson denied the substitute a promising chance of an equalizer.

Solskjaer’s men held their nerves under the opponent’s pressure for the rest of the game. This victory in the Milan v Man United tie implies that the Red Devils are on track for their first silverware since Jose Mourinho led them to the cup in 2017. The manager praised the goalkeeper’s efforts and said that clean sheets are just as important as goals. Ibrahimovic rued his team’s failure to get on the scoresheet and suffer for allowing the rare goal in.
