After reports of Real Madrid finally securing the services of star Frenchman Kylian Mbappe, the Spanish giants are apparently close to finalizing the transfer of Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies. MARCA reported the claim, however, the news outlet could only cite various anonymous sources.

The Athletic, apart from the MARCA, also claimed a similar report. They too also cited anonymous sources. To be precise, they claimed that the camp of Davies and the Spanish Giants have agreed verbally on the player joining them after the 2023/24 football season comes to an end. Furthermore, MARCA also reports that Bayern Munich gave up on negotiating to keep Davies in Germany following a meeting with the player’s agent. As such, Munich already reportedly has thought of a suitable asking price to field to Real Madrid.
In 2025, the Canadian international’s contract with Bayern will officially expire. As such, Bayern will also have to sell for a considerably lower price, as the other option will be to lose him to Real Madrid for free. As far as possible market prices go, the Bavarians are reportedly willing to part with Davies if Real Madrid pays as little as $54 million.
According to Sky Germany, Munich, and Nedal Huoseh-led Davies’ camp had recently met each other in Munich recently. The meeting concluded with Christopher Freund, the Sporting Director of Bayern, admitting that Davies has no intention of continuing his stay with the Bundesliga champion. They had offered a lucrative deal worth $ 10.8 million per year, reportedly, in the hopes of ensuring his services. However, when the transfer window opens, Real Madrid will possibly start the negotiations at a much lower level of $38 million.
