Rob Lowe Posts A Sweet Tribute To His Wife Of 31 Years

On Monday, Rob Lowe celebrated his wife Sheryl Berkoff’s 61st birthday by posting a heartfelt tribute to her.

Happy birthday to my life’s companion. You complete the picture, and for that I am grateful. I wish you a lifetime of love and joy! The 58-year-old actor wrote “Xoxo” next to a picture of his spouse that he shared with his 1.8 million followers. Rob Lowe knew his wife Sheryl was the one almost right away.

Rob Lowe And Sheryl Berkoff Found Their Happily Ever After In Each Other

Working alongside Rob Lowe’s 1990 sexual thriller Bad Influence had led to their informal relationship, and he had noticed something very remarkable in Sheryl, who was then a well-known makeup artist (now a fine jewelry designer). The fact that Lowe, 57, was not yet sober or especially dependable was a major problem. But Lowe was already at a turning point, and it became more and more obvious that his fast-lane way of life and a future with Sheryl, 60, could not coexist. When Rob Lowe finally decided to enter rehab, he committed himself to Sheryl and his recovery for the rest of his life.

Sober and appreciative of his new direction, the two got married in 1991 and had sons Matthew and John Owen in 1993 and 1994, respectively. He commuted every day the 82 miles from his house in Santa Barbara to L.A. during his tenure on The West Wing from 1999 to 2003 so he could be with the family and kiss the boys goodnight.

The actor will always be appreciative to Sheryl, owner of Sheryl Lowe Jewelry, for believing in him. One of life’s biggest “miracles,” in his opinion, is his 30-year marriage to Sheryl because “she recognized things in me that nobody had ever seen before.” Sons Matthew, a lawyer, and John Owen, a TV writer, feel lucky to have grown up in such a loving environment and are not afraid to ask their father for assistance.
