Taylor Swift Breaks Record At 2024 Grammy Nominations

2024 Grammy

The 2024 Grammy nominations for the 66th Annual Grammy Awards were announced on Friday. The announcement was made on their website through a live stream. Harvey Mason Jr., the Recording Academy CEO was joined by several artists as they announced the 2024 Grammy nominations. They included Samara Joy, Muni Long, Vince Gill, Yankovich, and Jon Bon Jovi.

Taylor Swift has created a record at the 2024 Grammy with her Song of the Year nomination. The selection of Anti-Hero gives her the distinction of being the 1st songwriter with 7 nominations in this category. She overtakes Lionel Richie and Paul McCartney with 6 each. Swift was also been chosen in the record and album categories with Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, and SZA. For the best song, the other nominees are Dua Lipa and Lana Del Rey. SZA, Jon Batiste, and Billie Eilish are also among those who are in the run in this category.

Taylor Swift Record 6th Nomination In 2024 Grammy For Best Record

In the Best Album category, Taylor Swift’s 6th nomination puts her on par with singer/actress Barbra Streisand as the most nominated women artist. A win will make her the 1st artist with four wins in this category.

New rules have made it tougher for singers to qualify for the 2024 Grammys. The nominations offered in each of the categories have been pared down to 8 from the earlier 10. The 2024 Grammy Awards ceremony will take place at the Crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles, on 4 February though the organizers are yet to name the host.

US singer, rapper, and songwriter Jelly Roll bagged a breakout single when Need a Favor broke the charts. If he picks up the award at 39 years, he becomes the oldest ever to pick up for best artist. SZA picked up 9 nominations in the best R&B performance and progressive R&B album categories. She has collaborated with Phoebe Bridgers. The best pop duo/group nomination went to Ghost in the Machine.
