Chet Hanks considered once he is perhaps the black sheep of the family. Being the son of such a respected actor Tom Hanks. He faced a lot of criticism. The whole world watched every move he made. The majority were holding their breath for his failure. Chet didn’t let them suffocate. The family went through a rollercoaster ride for him, with him. He deeply regrets his decisions which put him through shame along with his family. 

Chet is all ready to turn his life 180° this time for the better. Leaving no loopholes for the world to feed upon.

Tom Hanks Must Be Proud Of Son’s Progress So Far

Chet Hanks went to a rehabilitation center for a year due to his addiction to cocaine.

When he was 24 years old in 2014.  Even before the tabloid viral his story. Tom Hanks’ son Chet Hanks came out clean to the world of substance abuse.

He now deeply thanks AA and NA programs which have shaped him into the man he is now. He has become a strong believer in not giving up.

Consistency is the key.

The disease couldn’t take control of him. He took control of the disease perhaps. Crushed it with willpower. Here he proved to be the son of Tom Hanks.

He has promised himself not to go back to that road again. It’s been one hell of a journey for him and his family. He swore to god not to take them down that road again.

Chet Hanks thanked his father Tom Hanks, and his mother Rita Wilson. His half-brother Colin Hanks.

He became a soul believer in healing one’s self. He did specify the painful part is not healing but healing. Healing has never been linear.

Chet Hanks further insisted on self-talk. He is not a guru of any spiritual kind. Perhaps he had to learn things in a rough way. Being the son of Tom Hanks has never been easy for him. He often posts stories of his healing journey on Instagram with a bunch of photos and motivational captions.
